Engineering Manager (JavaScript) m/f/x
At Cloudflight, we’re committed to making a digital difference. It’s a difference that impacts businesses and society alike and one that’s fueled by our passion for technology and our dedication to sparking the brightest ideas in ourselves and others.
Together, with an experienced team of over one thousand brilliant people, we collaborate to create value-driven custom software solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (JavaScript) to join our Delivery Team at Digital Commerce division at Cloudflight. You will be a perfect match if you combine a hands-on experience as a front-line JS development with management acumen, preferably acquired in multiple projects sized up to 20 FTEs rather than large-scale programs. We are developing our software in modern tech stacks fully leveraging Cloud potential and we will expect you to be well-versed in the challenges of these environments.
Responsibilities
-
Managing a team of 70 developers - managing the budget, setting up the expectations and goals, making sure they grow professionally within the organization (admin support will be provided to you) - you will personally guide the senior associates while ensuring that they give the same to their more junior peers
- Supporting the projects as they are sold and delivered during the key stages and in crisis. Bridging engineering and business strategies - you will need to understand the broader market and ensure that the technology contributes to commercial objectives
-
Ensuring the developers are capable of taking lead roles in the projects rather than just creating code, supporting them in communication with senior stakeholders, both internal and external, technology and business
- Advising the management teams on ways to make our projects better, more efficient, and more mature
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a hands-on JS engineer in software development projects & 5+ years of experience leading JS teams both in projects and organization - a total of 10+ years of professional experience is expected
- Hands-on programming skills in Node.JS and one of the following - Vue.JS, React.JS, Angular.JS - we do not expect you to code daily, but you must be able to fully understand the challenges the devs and customers face and rectify them
- Ability to apply knowledge and industry standards to real-life project situations - limited budget, timelines, skillsets of the team, client constraints, etc. - we are looking for an experienced professional able to lead from the front
- An up-to-date knowledge of the development tools, techniques, common pitfalls, and ways to avoid them (or get out of) - you will be responsible for sharing this information within the organization
- Good customer presence including pre-sales and delivery (fluent English and Polish are a must), understanding of the developer and architect role across all the stages of the project
We are an equal-opportunity employer. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive regardless of their background and circumstances. All applicants receive equal opportunity regardless of age, gender identity or expression, language, disability, ethnicity, national origin, religion, or sexual orientation.
We will go through your application and come back with feedback.
